MPI-RWANDA is a trade employers association that represents the major companies that joined the private sector federation that aims to strengthen the Rwandan cinema industry structure, sustainable policy, and investment stability as well as promote and protect the interests of the Rwandan culture worldwide. The initiative of both Local and international Rwandan filmmakers is associated with enhancing and fostering intellectual property policies, within government engagement to make and support industry pillar policies as a new sector purposed at growing the visual and creative arts industries. Standardize Business Aspects, in cultural influence, Job creation, and tourism exposure through our storytelling. The focus is to ensure the investor’s interest in return.

What we do
1. SAFEGUARDING OF IP RIGHTS
Safeguarding the intellectual property rights of its member companies/studios by combating piracy and illegal distribution of movies.
2. PROMOTION OF THE FILM INDUSTRY
The MPI-Rwanda promotes the interests of the film industry both domestically and internationally, for policies that support the growth and sustainability of the industry.
3. FILM RATINGS
The MPI-Rwanda will be smart enough to rate a film project through the national sensor board which guides the audience about the content of movies regarding age appropriateness.
4. MARKET STRATEGY
The MPI-Rwanda works to expand market access and marketing study of film premiering timetable countrywide by addressing barriers to the project flopping in the distribution, and partnership with the international market platforms.
5. LOBBYING
The MPI-Rwanda must work hand in hand with government institutions to engage in lobbying efforts to interest film production investors and international production to sharpen local industry in capacity building, as well as country exposure in the tourism sector.
